Water remaining in a dishwasher may be caused by the filter, drain hose, waste connection, pump or a sensor fault.
Observable symptoms
- Water remains in the base after the programme
- A humming sound during drainage
- An error code
- Bad odour
- Waste water flows back into the machine
Safe initial checks
Isolate power and follow the user manual:
- Clean the accessible filter.
- Check that the drain hose is not kinked.
- Confirm the sink waste is not blocked.
- Look for foreign objects inside the cabinet.
- Record the error code.
What does technical service check?
The drain pump, non-return valve, level detection and electronic controls are tested to locate the fault.
Safety note
Do not access the pump area without proper precautions because of sharp parts and hot-water risk.
